Sober by LaPrincesseNini; SGA; Ronon-centric
I really like this vid; it's brutal and a version of Ronon we don't often see. I think the show itself forgot that Ronon spent SEVEN FREAKING YEARS utterly alone and running and responsible for the deaths of anyone he allowed himself to get close to. By all rights, he should be so screwed up that he can't function. In this vid, he's functioning, but just barely. This is a Ronon who hides behind his physical strength, his mask of invulnerability, like an addiction and in the final seconds of the song, when we see those moments of grace and friendship between Ronon and the people in his life who mean most to him, we know that those friendships are his only hope.
If I Were Gay by Brentzilla84; BtVS; Spander
Just what it says on the tin and such a clever editing job. I will admit that, despite enjoying the fic mightily, when I watch the show I see absolutely zero subtext for these two characters, but this vid makes me wonder why. LOL (I do wish the vid didn't segue inexplicably into the Ats cast stupid dancing from that episode, but *shrugs*)
Kate Miller Heidke covering Psycho Killer by the Talking Heads
OMG SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! Even if it doesn't sound like your cuppa, listen past the opening verse, because this lady has some crazy ass pipes. I am a sucker for covers anyway, and this is an awesome one.
I know I have posted about SONGS TO WEAR PANTS TO before, but it bears some repeating. Here are some of my favorites from the site.
