Dear Yuletide Author,

Thank you so much for writing a story for me. I know I will love it. I will tell you some of the things I like about the fandoms I've chosen, but I hope you write the story that makes you happy, the story you've been wanting to write.

Please write whatever you want--mpreg, character death, crossover, coffee shop AU, gen, het, slash, femslash, porn or no porn, whatever. I used to write in this portion of my letter that I was unsquickable, but that's sadly not the case anymore. I really cannot handle reading about child death or child harm now; I get stuck in intrusive thought loops and can't stop thinking about it and becoming more and more anxious. Child death/harm is the only no-go for me, though. Whatever else you want to include in your story is A-OK by me.

Penny Dreadful

I have to be completely honest. I utterly despise the way the series ended. I would love, love, love an AU ending for the show, one where Vanessa doesn't just ask Ethan to kill her, one where the central thesis of the series (which seems to me to be that redemption is possible, that kindness and friendship can stand together against the darkness, that a single blade of grass can remain itself) isn't trampled in the last ten minutes. I'd love to read a version where Vanessa triumphs over Dracula and the good guys win or else one where she is the most bad-ass Queen of the Night ever and bathes in everyone's blood and wears utterly fantastic clothes while doing so.

But I'd love to read anything set in this universe. What's Ferdinand Lyle doing in Egypt? What happens to Lily after the series ends? Does she live forever? Seven hundred years in the future, is Lily on a space ship travelling to the outer reaches of the galaxy? How did John Clare die? I'll take all the Joan Clayton you want to write me along with every second of Vanessa training under her. I'm interested in every character who's appeared in this show, no matter how briefly, and will be delighted with whatever story you'd like to tell.

Lucifer

This show is so much fun. I love how silly and funny and lighthearted it is. The humor definitely helps the moments of pathos pack such a glorious punch. I love all the canon relationships the show is developing, but I also think Lucifer/Amenadiel would be wonderfully snarky and angsty and hooooooooooooooooooot. I think the opening episode of this season is setting us up for Maze/Linda, but even if not, I would love a story about Linda helping Maze figure out who she is and what she wants in bed out of a life on earth. I have a soft spot for Lucifer helping people, being vulnerable, and telling the truth despite himself. Also, Trixie is like cowbell; everything always needs more Trixie.

I am not familiar with the comics on which the series is based so feel free to incorporate or ignore as you will.

Live Free or Die Hard

This fandom holds a special place in my heart. The movie is just so damn fun. It's over the top, and it knows it's over the top. I'd go so far as to say that it's making fun of itself and the whole genre the entire time.

McClane/Farrell never gets old to me. So many reasons why they aren't an obvious match--age difference, completely different life experiences, totally different interests and hobbies and skill sets. I wrote a lot of fic where Matt thinks McClane is too damn cool to ever look at him twice, and I love that plot line, how floored Matt is when he realized John wants him back. I adore every single piece of fanon and every single cliche the fandom has come up with for the two of them--Lucy as yenta, Warlock as Matt's reluctant BFF, McClane offering Matt a place to stay because his apartment went kablooey. I love it all. If we match on this fandom, I will enjoy revisiting this fandom that's brought me a great deal of joy.

Just a quick heads up via the network re: your Tiffany Aching request - the only characters in the tag set this year are Esmerelda "Granny" Weatherwax (Tiffany Aching); Gytha "Nanny" Ogg (Tiffany Aching); Jeannie (Tiffany Aching); Rob Anybody (Tiffany Aching) so I'm pretty sure choosing "any" and asking for fic about Tiffany (or anyone else who wasn't nominated) is not technically allowed, since she is not in the tag set.

I hate to be a downer or a rules lawyer, but it might save you some grief to edit it now rather than later.

I think that is meant for worldbuilding prompts? My understanding is that requesting "any" means "any character in the tag set or worldbuilding" not "any character in the source text." But I'm not a mod, so you might double check with them.
