I had no idea it was rated X originally. That sort of shocks me because in terms of today's movies the sex and violence depicted are really very tame. Interesting.

I do think it's held up well over time. The only scene in the movie that doesn't work for me is the drug scene, but those rarely work for me on film anyway.
