That blinding light you see? That's my teeth as I grin.

I have my first interview scheduled for next weekend at a college in Georgia! I am so excited. And thrilled. Josh had taken over the research portion of applying for jobs for me and he found this one and only after I had applied did I realize that the chair of the department of this college is an Ole Miss alum and a former student of two of the people I had asked to write me rec letters. In fact, Dr. ____ did not even mail his letter but elected to email her personally, and when he CC'd me a copy, I was mildly horrified (but not surprised as I have corresponded with him by email before) to find that the message was full of typos, including the misspelling of both my first and last name. But the chair of the committee, when she called seemed genuinely excited about my interview and she mentioned the Ole Miss connection several times and I'm just fit to be tied, y'all. There is also the possibility of me having an interview at the other Georgia college I applied to on the way back from there, so that would also be awesome.

In our joy, we were unable to go to sleep immediately last night so I asked Josh to tell me a story, as I am wont to do (either that or play Marauding Viking, but Josh was not in a Hrothgar mood) and the story he told me was about how Daniel Jackson forsakes the SGC in search of the best pudding and along the way he meets Jeffery Steingarten and they get married and the story included the phrase, "little to anyone's knowing, Bonecrusher was hiding in the kitchen." *loves her husband like nothing else that either has or ever will be. ever.*

I will be asking, in a later post, for advice and etc from you guys, but this is not that post. This is the post of glee. This is the post where I say thank you for the prayers, the lit candles, the good vibes, the crossed fingers you guys sent my way. I truly am grateful and hope you keep it up through next weekend.

*smooches you all to the high heavens*

Georgia? Georgia! Lorraine - are you gonna be near me? I'm not far from where our last WriterCon was...

Oh, please, let it be near me.

Waycross is kinda waythehell south. I'm northeast of Atlanta. But it'd be worth the trip, once in a while...

And Cochran is not far from Macon, where I spent half my life. THAT I could do with no problem.

Awesome news about your interview! Needless to say, I wish you the best of luck. :)

You know, I hate it when people act like they solved my problems just by saying "Don't worry," but I *told* you that you were going through a temporary bad patch but it wasn't going to last forever.

BTW I disproved your "executrix just gets better and better" theory--my lgbtfest story isn't anywhere near as good as the Sonnets one, but it's getting more comments.

Congratulations! That's great news. Also, I have advice, but I will wait for the appropriate post!
