Just a bit of housekeeping:

This is the do or die semester in which I must complete the dissertation, so I am cutting the flist back to the inner circle. I have to read everything on my flist. It's pathological, so I'm reducing the temptation. I still love all you guys.

I have about six weeks to update an 1800 page book. For reasons that do not need to be explored at this juncture (including having to do the same thing to a 1500 page book, with the deadline a month earlier than the editor told me it was) I am not doing very well with this.

Wanna enter into a Word Watchers arrangement where we e-mail each other daily with a progress report?

I'm in the middle of creating a schedule of completion for my diss so they will let me register for hours. I can't even figure out what to do with it anymore so this is like pulling teeth.

I don't even have the prospectus nailed down or defended, so you are light years ahead of me. You know what you have to do--set specific times in your schedule & if your school is at all helpful they should allow you to cut back on some office hours. Its to their benefit you finish. You're way more tasked on this than I am, so I know you can do it.
