Can anybody tell me what

Il n'y que l'embarras du choix

means in French? It is quite possibly ungrammatical French.

doing it old school, and i'm quite sure the grammar is a bit mangled

avoir l'embarras du choix -- means to be spoilt for choice, basically there's a range of choices.
y = there

I think it means there is a range of choice, an embarrassment of choice in our words.

LOL not sure about amazing. the vague memories of, uh, 4 years HS french and 3 years in college about a gazillion years ago. very vague. i'm screwed if i ever end up in france without a phrase guide. :-p kind of sad though, i used to be pretty quick on the reading uptake, even had a nancy drew book in french that i could read.

I know what you mean. Ten years ago, I was fluent enough that I dreamed in Spanish. Now I can barely read it.
