Gibbs is such a weirdo

NCIS: Original Flavor

This week's episode was much improved over the premiere. I like that Tony called bullshit on Gibbs keeping things to himself and being too focused on person revenge; heck, everybody called bullshit on the way Gibbs was acting, and the narrative supported that. I also appreciated that Gibbs said out loud with words that killing Hernandez didn't change anything for him.

I still don't get what Gibbs's beef with Tony is. He sounded like he was saying in that final scene that federal agents need A Reason, some profound tragedy, to fuel their police work, which is the dumbest thing I've heard in forever.

I think what they're going for is that Gibbs is trying to hand over the reins; he knows it's time to bow out. He's a sixty something year old man who's been shot in the KNEEEEEEEEEEEEEE; he's got a group of people he's trained well. He should be able to leave them to fight the good fight in good conscience, but he can't. He's such a control freak. Tony could have handled leading this team years ago, but Gibbs doesn't know how to let go. He's scared to let go, so he's acting like an asshole.

I love his makeover. That new haircut and the button downs rejuvenate my silver fox crush. Also I would like Abby's pink dress in every color under the rainbow.

NCIS: Spicy Cajun Flavor

I feel much better about Brody's hair. I think it needed to be just that smidge longer to be more flattering. I also feel like the color is slightly different, deeper maybe? Less highlights?

I am so happy they added Percy to the cast. I love how funny she is; her banter with Lasalle is genuine and affectionate, and I love the way she and Brody gang up on him.

I love that CCH Pounder is always sitting down at the crime scene. That is such a tiny little grace note that makes the show seem more real.

I kept screaming, "No, Sebastian, no! Never click yes!" WTF was he thinking?

Brief note on Fear the Walking Dead: I love Kim Dickens. I think she is a fabulous actor; I love her in Deadwood and Treme; she's got the chops. But I hate the way they've got her portraying Madison. Her stoic personality is not working for me; it reads more flat than anything else.

Brief note on pedagogy: My friend told me that her son's graduate professor last spring would reveal Game of Thrones spoilers if his students slacked off or did poorly on assignments. That cracks me up.
