That was definitely a season ending, wasn't it? *pets you*
I posted about it, but I should warn you that there were several things I didn't like about the season, including some of the stuff you really liked! So you should be aware there might be some squee-harsh. I put all the positive stuff up front, though.
Even though my tolerance for it is pretty high, I can totally see how the bickering and hollering between Hopper and Joyce is deeply annoying to others. It was almost too much for me by the end as well.
I feel like they were trying too hard for the Sam/Diane dynamic (and even the Han/Leia dynamic) without realizing that you can't just do that constantly or it grates.
Let me think about the rest...I haven't checked in at Ao3 in a bit, and possibly some good stuff has come up now - that is even outside my own show obsession. *g*
Hopper dies at the end. I was not expecting it. I knew one of the grown-ups was going to have to die, and I thought it would be conspiracy theorist guy Murray.
After reading your reviews: I think you are spot on about Billy. I wanted to care more about his sacrifice than I did because we just didn't get to know him enough for it to matter in the way I wanted it to matter.
I also completely get why everyone find Hopper insufferable; it was too much and too over the top. I wish the bickering and hollering had been toned down more than a little.

I think he'll be back next season. And the move....wah! But also...necessary?
Mine is too grumpy, and I don't want to subject you to it. I'll hook you up with fic, though, when you're ready. :)

Lay some fic on me! I'm ready for it.

Now we'll just have to see how everything changes for next season with the Byers moving and Hopper (hopefully) being alive in a Russian cell.
