Slouching Towards Yuletide

I got my assignment! I love it and the thoughts my writer shared about the source material. Once again, I had to choose between fandoms to write in. I have never been matched with anyone at Yuletide where I couldn't write in more than one of their selected fandoms. I am lucky, lucky, lucky.

I am so lucky because this year I decided to go Old School Yuletide and only offer truly esoteric fandoms and nothing I'd written before. No Live Free or Die Hard. No Dead Poet's Society. I only offered fandoms based on books. My recipient didn't link a letter to the Letters Post, so this isn't a true assessment, but as far as I can tell my recipient is the only person who requested the fandom I'll be writing in. Of the other four offers, no letter was linked for one fandom, 1 letter linked for the second, 1 letter linked for the third, and no letter linked for the fourth. I offered a sixth fandom, but it doesn't appear on my sign-up, so IDK. I guess that got lost in the wind. It was for the biggest fandom, though--7 letters linked, including my own.

So excited to start writing and glad to have so much time to do so this year!

I have done Yuletide almost every year it's been a thing and never gotten matched with someone I could write more than one fandom for! XD I think this year might actually be the closest, as I have at least heard of one of their other fandoms, and it's a manga I've even read some of. But there are 30 volumes and I've read maybe ten and have no plans to read the rest anytime soon, and also I don't think I could write it even if I had read it all.

I only matched in one, but I'm sure that's pretty common. I'm trying to finish in order of deadlines: Jack/Daniel, femslashex, another thing, THEN Yuletide. But source material for Yuletide is sitting on my counter, beckoning :-)
