Silly Memes
I've seen these memes running around lj, so here we go.
Meme the first:
Ask me anything. You can ask it anonymously if you're embarrassed by the question or are worried I'd be insulted by it. I promise I'll answer it. I invite everyone and anyone can do this in their journal.
Meme the second:
i• d • i • o • syn • cra • sy
1. A structural or behavioral characteristic peculiar to an individual or group.
2. A physiological or temperamental peculiarity.
3. An unusual individual reaction to food or a drug.
List five of your own idiosyncrasies and then tag five friends to do the same.
She's CRAZY, CRAZY I say
1. I am hyper aware of the marginalia in my books. I almost always mark up the books I read, even the ones I read for pleasure. I always try to make my marginal comments interesting for the next person who might inherit it. *snort*
2. I make all kinds of crazy sauces and dip cheddar cheese in them. Mustard and Dale's mixed together is a good one. As is soy sauce, worchestershire sauce and hot sauce. Yes, I do know that most people find this habit disgusting. *g*
3. I have an almost uncontrollable urge to yawn when I am forced to sing in a public setting. Hymns at church (although what I'm doing at church, *shrugs*), the alma mater at a football game (ditto with the sporting event), etc.
4. I have an incredibly high tolerance for some medications. Nitrous oxide does nothing for me. No appreciable difference in pain or awareness levels. Others knock me out inexplicably. One teen-ninecy sip of cough syrup with codeine and I'm insanely f*cked up.
5. I like to pretend I'm a rock star or a sexy vampire slayer or Adam Baldwin's girlfriend when I'm going on long trips in a car. I just sit back and start imagining this story in which I am super cool, undeniably hot, and can kick ass. Makes teh time go by faster. /over-identification with Andrew.

And I love used books more than new books, so I can read what other people have said (underlined more than highlighted; the highlighter has done more to ruin western intellectualism than even Republicans), and sometimes I make marginal notes on other people's marginal notes. I think that's best; really, books should be all margin and very few words, so we can share more thoughts.

The reason I don't do it in pencil is that I like the evolving nature of my reaction to a piece. My marginalia is almost like a diary of sorts. I like to look back and see how my impression of Great Expectations or what have you has changed since I read it last. I usually end up commenting on my past marginalia and noting new disagreement with myself, etc. LOL

Lord that man is hot. And he is so not my usual type. I am incredibly drawn to the skinny, heroin chic, androgynous look (Spike anybody? LOL), but something about him just gets me. Maybe because he is so different from what I normally go for.

I also saw earlier that you posted looking for a beta. I saw that someone responded but if you ever need an extra set of eyes, I'd be happy to.

Driving along, oh so tedious, so there you are, being the one that makes the difference in some dumb movie or tv show ep. Heee!

That's what's good about this meme - it helps us to learn that we are not alone in our freakishness!
