Today is Fountain Pen Day!
Check out the official site for more info plus deals from online stationery purveyors.
Let's talk about Fountain Pens!
What's your Grail Pen (most coveted pen)? What's currently inked? What's your favorite ink? Nib style? Best paper to use fountain pens on?
Or maybe you want to talk about what doesn't work--the dud pen or the crappy paper with tons of bleed through.
Time for some fountain pen love!

Lamy 2000 in black, with Iroshizuku Murasiki-shikibu, which is a gorgeous plummy color.
Lamy Al-Star in turquoise, with J Herbin Emerald of Chivor, which is exactly what it says on the label.
Pilot Vanishing Point in matte black, with Iroshizuku Yama-guri, which is a beautiful sepia ink.
I have a couple grail pens: Visconti Homo Sapiens, because look at that, and it's made from basalt off Mount Aetna. Plus this Namiki Vermillion Urushi Pen, it's utterly plain and utterly flawless. Look at that. It's amazing. I also do want this Pilot vacuum-fill pen, they make a solid pen, and also, look, it's so pretty!

I have not yet branched out into bottled ink; I've just been using cartridges. However, my friend M is giving me a syringe which will enable me to refill cartridges, so then I'll be ready to maybe try some.
Your grail pens are so pretty! I love that Viscounti. I am really drawn to the Sailor 1911 series.
I also love the Pelikans with the stripes, pretty much all of them.
I can tell that my constant reading about pens is changing my tastes because I'm starting to like a lot more of them than I did at the start although the classic shape and black color are still my top draw.

I was afraid of cartridges for a while, but they're not too bad! I'll walk you through them on video if you ever want to give them a try.
The classic black ones are very nice, but honestly, all kinds of shapes and colors are super pretty.

I watched a video on Jetpens about how to use a converter, and it didn't look horrible, so I think I will graduate soon to that. LOL And then it will be all over. Once I start buying bottled ink, I know I will be well and truly gone. LOL
