it's a perfect day, elise
Sep. 25th, 2010 08:34 pm1. Tonight for dinner, I
Cut a loaf of rustic Italian bread into sandwich slices, toasted on one side, brushed the other side with butter and then toasted that as well. Tossed baby arugula with olive oil and red wine vinegar. Layered the following in the sandwich (buttered sides facing inward!)--arugla, prosciutto, thinly sliced bosch pear, and gorgonzola. Moaned in ecstasy.
2. Started reading one of the books
executrix sent me in the latest bundle. *hugs* Can't tell you how much those packages mean to me. It's a guaranteed day brightener.
3. Can anybody tell me about Star Trek young adult books? I'm thinking of getting some for Emma.
4. Very Deliberately Waiting by
glossing; Simpsons; Marge/Manjula
I don't know that I can do this fic justice in describing it. It's achy and beautiful and captures very perfectly the way that things must change, always. I remain amazed every year at Yuletide how simultaneously poignant and funny and wry and clever the fic for this show is; this story (although not for Yuletide) is no exception. It's a quiet story but such a powerful one. Go read!
