margarks is planning to run a marathon next year, and this marathon supports the fight against stroke, a potentially debilitating disease that affects many people world wide. I'm sure you know someone who has had a stroke; my husband's grandfather died from complications of a stroke. Donate money direct, or take advantage of the services offered in the comm. People are offering to write fanfiction for monetary donations to the charity. Although I don't see a posting in the comm yet, I know ponders_life is donating her icon making skills to the cause. So all you non-fanfictiony friends on the flist, you might want to take advantage of that.

Margie, if you see this, I can't do graphics, and I don't think I can write fic on demand either. It's like pulling teeth for me, and I'm so slow at it. I would like to volunteer to do something, though. This sounds lame, but do you have any task I could do to help?
