This fic mentions a past relationship between Ronon and Kell, but that isn't the point of this piece. No, this is about what it takes for Ronon to finally feel as if he is at home in Atlantis. This is about him learning to negotiate the differences between his former and his current lives. I adore backstories for Ronon and fics that explore Atlantis from his unique perspective. Really nice one.

In the period in which Ronon is deciding whether or not he wants to stay on Atlantis, Elizabeth asks him to write a report about Sateda. This is glorious. The backstory given for him here is rich and interesting, but above that, seeing Elizabeth and John through Ronon's eyes is nothing less than amazing. I am a huge fan of outsider perspective and Ronon's observations and insights here are incredibly well done. This one brings a wee tear of "Oh, Ronon" to my eye.
