Five Pence of a Further Six Pence
Jul. 18th, 2020 12:50 pm1. Fiona and I have been doing Dance Party to the Classic Dance channel on DirecTV. So much Ace of Bass and Technotronic and Culture Beat cycling endlessly through my head right now. LOL
2. Fortunately,
misbegotten sent me Everclear's Songs from an American Movie which I am listening to right now.
3. We finished 3Below, which I really enjoyed. I feel like it wraps up a little too quickly, but it is just as successful at tugging on the heartstrings as Trollhunters. We just started Dragon Prince which is really good; it's by the same people that did Avatar, I think, and one of the main characters is voiced by the same voice actor as Sokka.
4. I am almost finished putting together my nineteenth-century poetry and prose class! I almost regretted having them read Coventry Patmore's Angel in the House as I was rereading it this week. Almost. LOL
5. I'm about halfway through Michelle Obama's Becoming, and it is so good.
6. We finished the first season of Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, and I really enjoyed it. The one thing I will put outside the cut because I think it's a major selling point is that there are multiple, older, female characters, and the most powerful human character is a woman in her fifties or sixties.
( spoilers )
Anybody else watch this and want to talk about it?
