Hump Day Happenings
Sep. 22nd, 2021 06:30 am1. Emma's date ended up not happening. She asked the girl out, went off for Labor Day weekend with us, and hasn't seen the girl since. She hasn't been back to class or answered any of Emma's texts, so Emma guesses she left school. But Emma is quite cheerful. "I still have a 100% total success rate on asking people out, Mom." LOL
Also she made an 88 on her first Chem test; the class average was a 65, so she is quite pleased.
2. Josh's colonoscopy was completely clear: no polyps and no signs of any problems! Of course, that means that we don't have any additional diagnostic information for why he has the stomach episodes (which are unrelated to the cdiff; years ago Josh started having random stomach spasms that result in bouts of vomiting and diarrhea that are triggered by nothing we can identify so far). He has a follow up in a couple of weeks, so hopefully they will have some suggestions for diagnosis/prevention.

A Year at the Chateau by Dick Strawbridge
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is wonderful. The first season of the show is the leanest, so I really enjoy getting this behind the scenes look at their first year in the chateau. I was shocked to read that they were involved in a terrible, multi-car pileup on the highway on the way to moving into the chateau (due to inclement weather; no one at fault); the whole thing almost never happened. I am so glad they escaped relatively unscathed.
The book really showcases what terribly hard work the whole thing has been in a way that the show doesn't quite manage to convey. Love the numerous pictures.
I don't think this would be interesting for anyone who hasn't watched the show first, but for fans of the show, this is a must-read.
