Yeah, I sort of felt like Joss got his perfect ending with Buffy so he either a)decided to do this one his way, or b)was pissed at the network and wanted to get back at them. I know Joss isn't a mean guy, so I think it was A.
What got me with the Fred thing was that I thought that maybe she wasn't gone forever, like her soul was still in there(think soldier!Xander) and Illyria just didn't want to admit it. It didn't really hit me that she was gone 'till I re-watched aHitW on DVD. Those two(Amy & Alexis) need an emmy for that performance.
I agree with the Immortal thing, although that could be like his nickname, Buffy might actually have a name to call him.
I truly hope(and truly doubt) that there will be a mini-movie to fix all the things left undone. Maybe that's just me wishing though. *sigh*
