SGA recs: Spotlight on the ridiculous

Today when we were watching TV, my daughter turned to me and said, in perfect earnestness and with such utter faith in her sweet little girl voice, "Mommy, will you buy me a little jet pack?" LOVES HER DAUGHTER TO PIECES
So, in that vein, here are some SGA stories that have made me laugh
Lantisjournal by
ana_grrl and
mklutz PG-13ish What if Atlantis had Live Journal? What would everyone's handle be? Who'd write the best porn? Who would start the most kerfluffes? This is hilarious and interactive, with plenty of links to click on and keep you amused for quite some time.
844, 739 Ways to Eat a Hamburger by
minervacat Adult Although there is some background McShep, this is really a gen fic. The whole team comes back to Earth for a visit and drives cross-country while visiting every Waffle House along route. This is so freaking funny I thought I would damage myself when reading it.
One Leg at a Time by
lucitania McShep Adult This has some of the sharpest, funniest dialogue I've read in a long time in any fandom. It's just a damn fun read. Basically, Rodney doesn't wear pants on his down time and John thinks he ought to because it's just not proper otherwise and then Rodney tells some natives his name is Rodnok and it's all downhill from there.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to a Scientist and His Grunt by
khoben1 and
foxxcub McShep, Lorne/Parrish, various others Adult I really love the structure of this piece--little vignettes that aren't related to each other in a narrative way but instead that illustrate certain rules of behavior of scientists and grunts. This isn't thigh slapping hilarious like the other fics I've recced this post, but rather more quietly and affectionately amusing. Good read.

Date: 2007-08-20 03:26 pm (UTC)I think I was mistaken about cateogrizing LantisJournal. I'm moving it to the dramatical and angsty death fic MPREG section. And crossreferencing it with non-human AU just to be on the safe side.
LOL

I think this also works for the Lorne/rough hewn table OTP that shows up in the fic.
