First off, Happy Birthday
authoressnebula. I'm pretty sure you don't read my journal, but warm wishes all the same.
Secondly, if you enjoy my students-are-insane posts, check out these two offerings posted in my grad student friend
djdarksoul's lj.
The Tattoo Saga, Part 1
The Tattoo Saga, Part 2
Be sure to read his brief explanations before the papers begin.
Thirdly, all you Star Trek junkies on my flist, rejoice. Arguably the best Star Trek novel writer (we're talking TNG here), Peter David, is writing a graphic novel about Spike. I think my squeees can be heard all across the globe. I mean, Peter David is brilliant. I want to have his novelist babies. He can do funny like nobody's fucking business. And when he wants to get angsty--whoa, mama.
Fourthly, and finally, I know most of you won't read gen or het, but I'm reading this story right now that's just blowing me out of the water. It's by
liz_marcs and is one of the most brilliant things I've read in quite some time. It's called Water Hold me Down. There are nominal pairings (X/F, X/A), but it's not a ship-driven piece. It's completely character-driven. If you are at all interested in the character of Xander (and particularly his relationship (meant in a non-slashy way, although I suppose you could be subtexty with it if you wished) with Giles), this is something you must read.

Date: 2005-06-26 01:38 am (UTC)SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
Gods I love that man. I when I loved I had to get rid of a lot of my books but my Star Trek novels by him wasn't in that list and neither were my Aquaman comics! He made Arthur so dark and brooding he gave Bats a run for his money, it was so yummy!
Okay, my fangirling will go over here now.
MWAH!

Date: 2005-06-26 02:13 am (UTC)And is HIV+ a new form of HIV (I totally admit I don't keep up on this stuff) or is it HIV positive?
Nose rings found new interest when young people (they were called hippies then) from the U.S. began traveling in India extensively looking for enlightenment in the 1960’s.
So were all young people hippies then?
Oh, yeah, getting less concerned about going back to school with every post you make about students. :)

Date: 2005-06-27 12:42 am (UTC)I butchered your quote a bit... but just wanted you to know I went and read this fic in one night. That's why you have no 'Scopare' to beta. See, all your fault... lol!
Good fic btw... I like Journeyverse myself for a gen/het fic fix.
