SPN fic recs

coiledsoul Gen Oh my but this is lovely. Dean drives Sam to Stanford and is forced to make some very tough decisions. This author has a gift for tiny details; John drinks tall boys instead of just beer, for example. There's a glorious moment with Dean sitting in the window of the Impala which is the bit of joy the show has never shown us that I really wish it would, if only to make the angst that much more heart-rendy. There's a sooper seekrit brothers only oath that's just gah. Perfect. And these lines: Sam has developed a habit of treating the women Dean acquires as if they were accessories, pieces of jewelry that Dean wears. He’s never rude to them, he just knows their value in the grand scheme of Dean. And my absolute favorite line of the fic, maybe of any SPN fic I've read so far: “‘Til the wheels fall off?” EMILY, GO READ THIS! YOU WILL LOVE IT!
Sounds of Silence by
sunrize83 Gen This takes place immediately after “Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things,” and hits my h/c kink hard. Feelings sucked out loud. Dean fixed his gaze on the road and curled his fingers around the steering wheel until his knuckles showed white. His eyes burned, the muscles in his back ached like a sonuvabitch, and his throat was tight and sore. Damn Neil and damn his father and damn Sam and his "you need to talk about this" touchy-feely emo shit. Some things really were better left unsaid--the pit in his stomach and the anguish he'd seen on his little brother's face proved that.

boonies Gen Sam and Dean take in an orphan. So freaking precious. Like three whole bags of candy corn plus some Pixie Stix the day after Halloween kinda sweet.
Bad Company sequel to Bad Blood (which I've recced here previously) by Astolat Adult Wincest After the incident with the succubus and we-must-have-sex-now-or-die, how do Sam and Dean deal? I still think "Bad Blood" is one of the best things this fandom has to offer, and the coda is really nice as well.
Under Hill by Astolat Wincest Adult I am a huge, huge sucker for amnesia fic. When I first started reading fanfic, I came across a whole bunch of Buffyverse amnesia!Spander and I've had a thing for that trope ever since. It's so much fun to watch the characters try to figure out who they are, to watch them get some things about themselves exactly right and others so completely wrong. Plus, it makes for a fair bit of lovely angst once the characters' memories are restored. Bonus: in this fic, fairies are the memory snatchers.
Go The Other Way by
sevenfists Adult Wincest After all the angst of this past Thursday's episode, this fic is like a breath of fresh air. It's funny and cracky and there's cross-dressing (which is always guaranteed to hit my buttons). Go read! Have fun!
Someone Else’s Blood by
sevenfists Wincest Adult Dean tells annoying chicks that try to pick him up that he and Sam are together; major UST ensues. I've yet to read a Sevenfists fic that I didn't like, and this one definitely delivers.
People Livin’ in Competition by
ladyjaida Wincest Adult The boys try to one-up each other with delicious results.
