The Quiet Man by Kansas42 Gen This is really, really lovely. Dean is a fussy baby and a quiet child and though he's a talker as an adult, he doesn't always say the things that mean the most. This is a tearjerker and it is so so so good.

kroki_refur Gen The Metallicar through the eyes of all the Winchesters. I love that this author takes John and Sam and Dean all back to the same place when the car was new to them and they were afraid. And then she shows us Mary, full of joy, and all I can see then is Dean. Really lovely.
In the Gloaming byapreludetoanend Gen PG-13-ish After AHBL, Dean takes off and Sam spends a year trying to find him. This is such a novel take on the "Sam saves Dean" idea; I haven't seen another in which the boys are separated like this and I adore the way Sam is characterized here. Excellent read.
Few and Far Between bysevenfists Sam/Dean Adult The boys take a road trip after ALBL: In July, they drive the whole length of old Route 66, Chicago to LA. It's something Dean's always wanted to do. He buys a map and spreads it out on the bed one night, while they're eating pizza and watching Leno, and traces his finger along the crooked yellow line.
Through the Racks of Your History and All the crossed Lives byluzdeestrellas Sam/Dean Adult This is Sam and Dean in the aftermath of WIAWNSB. This author has a real gift, I think, not only for language and all the ways in which it can create both beauty and pain, but for getting into the minds of these characters. Lovely.
Stop This Train bydontyouwaitup Sam/Dean Adult After AHBL, Sam and Dean's relationship changes. I love the way the author has characterized Dean here. He isn't sorry, not at all. But he is afraid and he doesn't want to die and he doesn't want to leave Sam alone. This is raw and emotional, and one of my favorite bits of fic arising from that ep. And there's a paragraph in here (the one with the crying LOL) that goes in my fave fanfic paragraphs of all time file.

Witnesses Appear byunamaga Jared/Jensen PG-13ish Wedding fic! With Chad! Oh, I can die a happy woman. LOL This is funny and sweet. It'll make you smile.
The Truth About Heaven bydestina Jared/Jensen Adult This is the second of two parts with the first linked at the top of the post. You know, before SPN, I never read RPF. I just wasn't interested and no one on my flist was really writing it for the Jossverse, and it wasn't something that really registered on my radar. Well, as you know, RPF is huge in SPN--just as huge as fic for the show (which is surprising and a whole nother convo right there LOL)--which made reading it unavoidable. Boy am I glad I took that plunge. This is one of the best pieces of RPF I've read in this fandom. The relationship is so organic; it grows at a pace that feels very natural, very easy. I love the way that Jensen and Jared are characterized here; they seem very much like people I'd like to know and their friendship (even above the romance) the kind of friendship I'd like to have for myself. I really like the way Destina captures that magical feeling you get when you are so close to someone that you almost feel as if you are the same person in two bodies, and she does that without being sentimental or sacchrine.
When the Cat's Away byestrella30 Jensen/Chad Adult I think it's long since stopped being a secret that I love CMM in SPN RPF. I mean, really love him. Ahhaaahha. This is so great; it's a really playful version of Jensen we don't see often in RPF. Did I mention funny? And also the really scorching hotness of it all?
