Teal deer: they totally live in my new backyard

Question! Is my kitty cat moon userpic showing up to you guys? I've got this fancy new fast internet, but a fair number of the graphics associated with lj just aren't showing up. Weird. It might be this computer. It's totally this computer.

We are in new house! New house is awesome! It is huge. Like, crazy huge. I don't know why I have such spatial relationship issues, but I totally did not realize how enormous this place is on the walkthrough when we rented. Backyard is large enough to raise a herd of animals. LOL

Emma has adjusted magnificently. She did nothing but cry the whole the last month we were in Oxford and say, "I don't want to make new friends," and act out and nothing we did helped and then on the day we moved from Oxford, my mom filled up the leaky side of the kitchen sink to watch dishes and a bunch of water started dripping out underneath and Emma announced, "I did not know we had a leak here. I'm ready to go now." From that moment on, she's been peaches and cream about moving. She "loves our new house in Cochran" and she "wants to live here for a hundred years." She also has met a little girl her age, Susan, (daughter of a faculty member) and they are now best buds. Emma has informed me that she and Susan are the most beautiful girls in the whole universe and last night they dressed up in the full princess regalia to prove it.

Groceries are way, way, way more expensive here which surprised me as housing is so much cheaper. We're going to have to stockpile kitty litter because with the way my cats shit, I am not paying 15 dollars for a bag of litter every few days.

I have REAL internet! OMG! In my house!! I watched Youtube TWO TIMES in the last hour. OMG! I might go watch it again! To that end, rec me some vids, y'all, now that I can actually watch them.

I am not going to check the flist. I am so anal retentive, I'd try to read it all and it would hurt my brain. Please self rec! If you wrote some fic or meta or made a personal post you think I should read, let me know. If I missed a kerfluffle that I should be laughing my ass off about, let me know. :)

And, I just cancelled my AOL service and retrieved all my bookmarks before I did so, so I leave you guys with some recs. I am forgoing my usual awesome summaries/love because I am tired, but rest assured that these are some really awesome fics. Go read.
