Rest in Peace, Uncle Jim

I just got back from Gulfport; my Uncle Jim died two weeks ago and his memorial service was this weekend. He was 82 years old and lived an incredibly full and rewarding life. He was a member of the Lions all his life and as an optometrist, provided free glasses for people who could not afford them as part of that group's philanthropy effort. He founded the Gulfport polo club and was one of the most active men I have ever known. He hid his age very well, playing in polo games until two years ago, and for any of you have ever seen the sport played, it's hard on the body. He went sky diving for his 75th birthday and he looked like a movie star until the very end. He was 23 years older than my Aunt Linda and my heart hurts for her thinking of all the time she has left to spend without him. I wish that I had gotten to know him better. He will be missed.

We are moving on Friday and after that my internet service will probably be a bit sporadic until we get the internet installed in the new place.
