I hope these posts aren't getting tedious for everyone. I prefer to use lj to keep track of fics I've read, enjoyed, and may want to read again. I don't like using the AOL bookmarks and I find lj mems easier to navigate than, say, creating a Word doc or something.

So.....

BtVS/Ats recs

http://www.wandererverse.com/Journey/ "Journeyverse" by Tenhawk et al. This fic is enormous, and is still being updated as far as I can tell. If you read it, start with Main Stories, go to Year Zero, and then read Year One. The other stories are backstories that can really be read in any order. This fic manages to crossover with just about everything LOL from Charmed to SG-1 to books like Flight of the Old Dog. There's actually very little graphic sex (all het) depicted in the fic, so I'd say it is rated pg-13 generally. There are some problems with the fic. There's a ton of spelling, grammar and punctuation errors. After awhile, Xander (who's the main character) is very OOC for series!Xander; however, I can handle the OOC-ness because enough things happen to him in the fic that I think would drastically affect his characterization. Normally, problems like these are enough to throw me out of a fic, but for some reason, this one was like crack for me. One of the things I really like about Journeyverse is that it's very focused on the martial aspect of demon fighting. The battle scenes and the weaponry and the military planning bits are rendered in extreme detail. There's very little focus on say, romance or internal monologue or any of those kinds of things. It's all action, action, action. Also, it became a kind of game to see who he was going to include as a crossover next. So *shrugs* May not be your cup of tea.

http://www.hawksong.com/~mpoetess/stakes/chocogood/index.html "Chocately Goodness" by [livejournal.com profile] mpoetess. Spike/Xander NC-17 This is one of those oldies but goodies that I somehow managed to overlook until now. This is very very funny. I think [livejournal.com profile] mpoetess has a gift for wry humor and also for Xander and Spike voice. Sadly, it is still a WIP (and don't bug the author about finishing it; she has a very heartfelt disclaimer on the site for why she hasn't completed it), but what's there is worth a read.

Random fic links, including Winnie the Pooh slash

http://www.dcs.gla.ac.uk/SF-Archives/Misc/Eye_Of_The_Argon "The Eye of Argon" by Jim Theis This is supposed to be the worst writing ever. I saw in [livejournal.com profile] fanthropology maybe that people used to have parties where they'd try to read this out loud without laughing. It's pretty bad.

http://makebelieve.freewebsitehosting.com/winnieTpooh/teddybearspicnic.html "Teddy Bear's Picnic" by Scribe. Kanga could not come, she said, because Roo's Ritalin had not Kicked In, and she had pouch cramps because of the Moon (though how this could be, Pooh had No Idea, and she said she would explain when he was Older), and she was too pooped to hop. OMG Slashing the Pooh. You will wet your pants.

Firefly fic recs

http://www.livejournal.com/community/ff_fanfic/131197.html?view=450685#t450685 "Collecting Scars" by [livejournal.com profile] laytoncolt Rated R; gen (although some subtexty Mal/Simon); He gets phantom pain sometimes; a slow burn in his leg, crawling upwards and in, getting everywhere and nowhere. It hasn’t softened him. Hasn’t changed a thing. He’s still a professional when he treats someone, even if he knows how they must feel.

http://www.livejournal.com/users/smlslikecrotch/1725.html?view=29629#t29629 "To One Who'll Watch" by [livejournal.com profile] claireweasley Simon/Jayne Dark and lovely with an unexpected ending. Claire has a great Jayne voice, I think.

I'm also editing my previous rec post to include the latest offerings by [livejournal.com profile] lunadatura in his/her Simon/Inara saga.

http://www.livejournal.com/users/executrix/218424.html?view=1362488#t1362488 "Treehouse of Terror" by [livejournal.com profile] executrix The second story has BDM spoilers and is just...wow. The best kinda ghost story ever.

Also lookit here: http://www.homoerotimuseum.net/map.html Homoerotic Art Museum. I'm thinking iconage, yo!!!!!!

I meet so many people I know in the special hell. LOL

I have no idea about that Eye of Argo thing. There's a whole huge backstory that I have regrettably forgotten, but could look up if I were not so lazy. I think it's intended to be straight. Like he meant it seriously. The piece is old though; from the pre-Internety zine days. If [livejournal.com profile] executrix reads this post, she might be able to shed some light.

I'm reading the post! I hope you never stop doing Recs, and thanks for putting me in them!

I know that The Eye of Argon is indeed a staple of Turkey Readings at cons, but alas I have no further information to offer.

Have you checked out [livejournal.com profile] rec50? That's what I'm doing all my Gundam Wing recs for and there are quite a few fandoms being rec'd. Including Firefly.

The Winnie-the-Pooh was not something that I appreciated, except in the way that I love crackfic. However, I will not thank you for the knowledge. Some things are not meant to be known. (I can't stop my horrified giggling. It's like a train wreck, or a very large scab.)

What can I say; I like to rubberneck
