1. How much fun is B.D. Wong having? I mean, the man is an acclaimed actor; he could do anything. And what he chooses to do is wear silly outfits and threaten pain on Gotham. He always looks like he is having an absolute blast.
2. Barbara is fantastic from start to finish of this episode: stealing the part to the sub, driving herself to the hospital, shooting people from her wheelchair, bonding with Lee. Pretty much everything I could have hoped for from this scenario.
3. In a similar vein, Ed and Penguin. The scene with Penguin pointing the gun at the baby, Ed deciding to stick around to protect Barbara even though he'd gotten the part back, that little laugh of glee they share--perfection!
4. Alfred! :( I guess Bane breaks his back instead of Bruce's in this version. Poor Selena. I know she's going to blame herself. :(
Guardian episode 8
1. Little Guo is officially on the team! That whole scene was so deliciously, awkwardly sweet. I love that they made him a weapon that runs on fear. Starting to understand Old Chu's clear affection/deep irritation with Little Guo; he clearly lost a brother, and Little Guo reminds him a lot of that lost brother.
2. The plot where Zhao Yunlan buys Shen Wei's books as a courting gift is comedy gold. It's like this show put every rom com trope in a blender and went to town.
3. Speaking of which: I think Zhao Yunlan's stomachache is more than just having gone on a bender. I'm worried that something is actually wrong with him. He's been sick multiple times in the show, and it's only been 8 episodes. Shen Wei taking care of him and cleaning up his house!!! OMG.
This is the slashiest show I have ever seen. The goggles are included with purchase.
