What Pete Ate From a - Z Where We Explore the English Alphabet (In Its Entirety) in Which a Certain Dog Devours a Myriad of Items Which He Should Not by Maira Kalman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Lots of challenging vocabulary and very interesting illustrations. This dog eats everything (except his dog food) LOL.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Green Team by Parragon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The origin story of the turtles; lots of text with good challenging vocabulary. Nice illustrations. I think this is based on the newest version with Sean Astin as a voice actor; the drawings look like that animation.

How to Clean a Hippopotamus: A Look at Unusual Animal Partnerships by Steve Jenkins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Very cool science book; I actually learned about several symbiotic animal relationships unfamiliar to me. Challenging vocabulary with lots of text on each page as well as cool illustrations.

The Golden Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The language is not as beautifully crafted as Pussycat's Christmas, but I still love this collection of poems and short stories about bunnies. Gorgeous illustrations.

Dolphins! by Sharon Bokoske
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Very informative. Exactly on reading level for my kid; she only needed help with one or two words.

Extra Yarn by Mac Barnett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Absolutely beautiful illustrations. Great story about a little girl who brings color and joy to her town with a magic box of yarn.

Mouseton Abbey: The Missing Diamond by Nick Page
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is super cute. It's not a parody of Downton Abbey; the characters don't correspond to DA characters. The only connection is the estate and the makeup of the family. However, the illustrations are adorable (handmade dolls posed in illustrations), and the story very silly and sweet.

The Adventures of Sophie Mouse 4 Books in 1!: A New Friend; The Emerald Berries; Forget-Me-Not Lake; Looking for Winston by Poppy Green
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The illustrations are exquisite. I bought this in hardcover with newsprint paper inside and black and white illustrations. I think if you buy the books individually you get color illustrations, which I think would be worth it, because they are so lovely.
Easy to read stories with little real conflict but still containing some challenging vocab for young readers. My kiddo enjoyed.

Anne Of Green Gables by Mary Sebag-Montefiore
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I don't think this is actually the book I read, but this is what the ISBN pulls up. It's a pretty short picture book of the story; the illustrations are wonderful, but the story is truncated weirdly and doesn't even hit some of the more important parts like Diana and Anne being kept apart and Anne saving Diana's sister's life. It's not a very good abridging IMHO.
