1. It was indeed an accidental banning! I have been unbanned! Hurray!

2. I have finished and uploaded my story for Yuletide. Note to self: Do not ever leave it this late ever again. We are going back to our regular get-her-done-by-Thanksgiving posting schedule next year come hell or high water.

3. I got my bivalent COVID booster on Thursday, and it is kicking my ass. While it has not kicked my ass as thoroughly as all the previous COVID vaccines, it is still wreaking some merry havoc with my immune system. I thought I had escaped any terrible side effects because I got it on Thursday morning and was pretty much fine all Thursday; my arm didn't even really hurt. Friday, I woke up and was exhausted. My arm was killing me, and everywhere I already hurt because of my autoimmune stuff hurt like eleventy billion times more. By the time I went to bed last night, I had a lovely red circle where I was injected, and my armpit lymph node was starting to swell. I am not as tired this morning, and I don't hurt as badly everywhere else, but my lymph node is killing me. Oh well, it could be worse. I had a fever and flu-like symptoms last time.

4. Emma is 20 years old today. :D

Holiday birthdays can be the pits; my brother has a December birthday, and he always got the shaft from extended family which pissed my mom off royally. So I have made a conscious effort to be sure Emma doesn't get her birthday neglected for Christmas. But she was the only grandkid on both sides for a decade, so she's never wanted for giftly attention. LOL

It *is* painful, like somebody shoved a stone up under the skin. I never used to get enlarged lymph nodes from vaccines until I got Epstein Barr, and now every time. *sigh*

The day I got the shot I put ice on the arm and it helped keep it from hurting that night and the next day. I got the body aches but it was over by the next morning. Maybe ice will help the lymph node?

M got the bivalent on Saturday and is still ass-kicked. Alas, because of recent vacation and booking the week between Christmas and New Year's off, they did not feel they could call in sick today. It's amazing how different people react -- I only had a sore arm for a day or so.

I figured it was accidental, since you said she was never hostile. Glad it's resolved. Does your planner group talk about pens, too? My heart was broken when a lovely fountain pen I got for Xmas when newly married broke, but I am taking a small step back into that this Christmas, with an inexpensive Lamy.

It is wild the varying reactions people have to the same vaccine. I hope M feels better soon. I am pretty much over it at this point except the back pain (my back started hurting just like when I had COVID a couple days after the shot *sigh*).

I react terribly to COVID boosters. And it's usually the arm being extremely sore. And massive headaches. But when I did catch COVID back in May despite it feeling like the worst thing I've ever had except that one time I had pneumonia - I think of how much worse it could have been for me.

I was an idiot and forgot to get a flu shot in time. Now I have influenza - fun times.

I hope that your pains don't last long.

To my knowledge, I have never had the flu. I've had strep and bronchitis and COVID once but never the flu. Both girls have had flu once, and they both had pneumonia multiple times as children (which was scary as fuck). I think Josh has had flu once. But I've never had it, and I hope to keep it that way.

about 3; got mine on dec. 13 & aside from some muscle pain in the shoulder that got the injection (& joint pain that may or may not have been related) and a bit of rash around the injection site; it went well.
