1. Our department has moved to new offices; we were scattered in disparate buildings all over campus, and now we're consolidated into one floor of one building (which has its pros and cons; it makes absolute sense for us all to be in one place; however, my office has been my haven; I do almost all my work at my office, and I do a lot of personal work there as well; my former office was really quiet and in a largely empty building; I'm a little concerned that this new set-up is going to be loud and distracting, but as [personal profile] executrix reminded me, that's why God made noise cancelling headphones LOL). My new office has white walls and a lot more wall space than my previous office. I need to find some posters/artwork to put up on two walls; I'm looking for three to four items. I don't want the college dorm Starry Night genre or the Hang in There inspiration genre either. Anybody have any recs? It doesn't have to be a poster; I'm willing to splurge on actual artwork if I like it. HALP ME!

All Systems Red (The Murderbot Diaries, #1)All Systems Red by Martha Wells

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Murderbot is awesome. How could I not love a story about a robot who just wants to be left alone to watch TV in peace?

I love Murderbot's humans, especially Dr. Mensah. I love the thorny ethics of its sentience. I love all the issues of embodiment the books explores.

The only thing I do not adore is how short it is. :( I need more than just a novella about these characters. Also, my copy has two typos which is super jarring for something so short.

Eagerly looking forward to the next books.

3. Have some Murderbot Yuletide recs:

Humanumission and The Ship Who Vidded, both by [archiveofourown.org profile] actonbell. And there's still more Yuletide for Murderbot to read!
