Ouch. That was tragic, in all senses including the classical. The contrast of John's bravery in all other situations with his fear here is poignant and effective. His failure to come to terms with his feelings is sad, but strikes me as very real. I like the way Matt, on the other hand, does the strong, brave thing every step of the way. The intensity between them is powerful, but broken in a fashion that I can believe---and in a fashion that makes me proud of Matt for walking away.
