Date: 2008-05-08 09:45 pm (UTC)I lived in Central Georgia for a good period of time - just north of Warner Robins, in Macon. I know whereof I speak.
Middle Georgia/Cochran is below the gnat line. This means if you have difficulties with bugs, you will have a few challenges. I recommend Skin-So-Soft for repelling the crittters without smelling like a chemistry set.
This also means that you will probably have roaches almost where ever your house is. It does not mean your house is dirty - they just ARE, universally. The newer the house, though, the better the situation, although I loved the old houses, so I put up with them for character.
I also suggest you sell your soul if needed for a place with Air Conditioning. I've lived in Central Ga both with and without, and trust me. it's worth having. (Remember, I lived there over twenty years ago, so it may be as universal as the roaches now, I don't know. All I do know is that it hit 105 degrees a couple of years, and even when I was younger, that was too hot to handle.)
When I lived there, only Macon and Warner Robins had malls, while the smaller towns did not. That may have changed, but you might want to consider stocking up on essentials of the mall sort when you pass through those towns, if you're driving.
And finally - YAY! You're only going to be - what, a good three hours from me? That's close than you've been before!
