So, a question I've been thinking over for a while now.
I have no desire to interact with celebrities in any way outside of watching them on the screen/stage or listening to them speak. I don't want to meet them or talk to them at all. I kinda think it's cool when we're out on the town and I see Joey Lauren Adams across the way or when Douglas is all, "Hey, wanna go party with the Hives after this?"--but I'm not gonna go talk to JLA or dirty dance with Chris Dangerous (because you know he'd dance with me LOL). I feel like there would always be a disconnect between me (fan) and the celebrity that would make me uncomfortable in conversation. (The exception to this rule for me is authors--I do enjoy meeting authors after lectures or book signings, but I think that's because I feel as if those conversations occur on more equal footing. The author (often) doesn't have a public persona to hide behind and the discussion is centered on textual matters.)
Now this is not to say that I think people who do want to interact with celebrities are wrong. On the contrary. In fact, I'm probably the lone weirdo on this question. So, I was wondering where you guys stand on this issue. How much do you wanna interact with celebrities?
(I'd make a poll, but as we all know Lorraine is crap on pollmaking *g*)
