And Then There Were Three by Amy; Snape/Draco/Harry; Adult
This fic reminds me a lot of a fic I read once in DS9 fandom where Garak prepares this Cardassian meal for Bashir and there's all this explanation of food and cultural relevance and it so scorchingly hot when they're just sitting around talking around roasted tubers that it defies explanation. This is that kind of story. This story is either written before the latter books or chooses to elide most of the OMG!drama between the three characters, so it's a Draco, Snape, and Harry who are much less antagonistic and have much less to get over than I'd like. However, I very much like the wizarding ritual invented here and I very much like the way that Snape's genius gets to shine as he courts each suitor in ways tailored to their individual tastes.

Okay. You know how you read that Data/Picard fic and it's so so so on the money in like a billion ways; it's really building on canon characterization to make a connection between these two characters that seem unlikely to hook up ever at best and then it goes and ruins itself by making Data's penis transmogrifying and his ass self-lubricating and his sex talk dialogue taken straight from Barbie Fairytopia? Well, this is that kind of fic. There's a scene in which Snape and Harry rub chests and name each other things like "Ass Beacon of Light" and "Heroic Suffering Git of Genius and Despair and Twirly Robes" that I defy you to read without good naturedly guffawing. I like the treatment of Dudley's relationship with Harry and I like the idea of a world in which magic is verboten. The romantic aspects leave me pretty giggly.

This is another "Snape drops off the face of the earth and reemerges and Harry is fascinated and seeks him out and then they shag" fics, but it's very well done. I love Harry's relationship with the Weasley twins and Snape's reasons for immersing himself in the Muggle world and the relationship that grows between the two men is grounded in what are for me very plausible emotional motivations. Nice, nice read.
