Oh my, this is awesome. I have always wondered why Maleficent behaves the way she does, and this imagines a thoroughly unexpected reason for her doing so.

This is another of my top picks so far this year. It's an AU setting that reads like J.K. Rowling by way of Patrick Rothfuss; the story explains why Maleficent curses Aurora, and I really like the explanation the author comes up with. This is a great story.
