1. The eye exam today did not yield any useful diagnostic information (although I did get some suggestions for combating dry eyes that I hope will be helpful; if they work, I will share). So I'm back to square one there.

2. Emma has decided to go Georgia State! She will be in the Honors College. I'm really happy for her.

3. She also got a small scholarship from our power company; every power bill we pay is rounded up to the nearest whole dollar, and all the extra money goes into a pot that is used for philanthropic endeavors. At Honors Night, this particular entity must have given out at least $10,000 among a number of students in Emma's graduating class (and that's just one class! they do this for all the local schools). It makes me really happy that we are contributing to something that does such good work in the community.

Amelia Bedelia Goes Wild! by Herman Parish

This is very cute. Amelia Bedelia's literal bent is preserved from the original series of books, but she's a kid instead of an adult maid in this series. Lots of information layered in illustrations and handwritten text throughout the book.
