Tik Tok by Anon; Back to the Future Trilogy
I don't know why, but I think [livejournal.com profile] talitha78 made this vid. In any case, it's my favorite vid of the whole fest. It's fun, funny, clever and tightly edited. In short, sheer joy to watch.

O Death by Anon; Book of Eli
I love that the song is set to a mixture of the Ralph Stanley and Jen Titus versions, and I love the way voice over from the movie is worked into the vid.

Ain't No Easy Way by Anon; Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
I have never seen this movie. This makes me a Bad Slasher, I know. And after seeing this vid, I feel the lack more keenly. I love the juxtaposition of still shots and moving scenes and the sepia toned bits. Really well done.

Never the Same by Anon; Chronicles of Narnia
This is epic in every way. Wow.

The Greatest Day by Anon; Chronicles of Narnia
This made me grin and tear up and, in general, feel all heroic.

Angels will fall by Anon; Deadwood
My absolute favorite thing about Deadwood is the relationship between Joanie and Jane. I love it so much, and this vid showcases that relationship so perfectly.

Cowboy Singer by Anon; Deadwood
This one's about the relationship between Jane and Bill. I love her absolute faith and belief in him and the way he seems to represent to her this kind of perfection she can never have, this sort of platonic ideal of what it means to be a hero. The actor that plays Jane does such a wonderful job portraying vulnerability and that quality is showcased brilliantly in both the Deadwood vids I've recced here.

There was a second Butch and Sundance vid made for the fest. You might like that one as well:

These vids are EXCELLENT. Though it's almost hard to make something that looks MORE like a slash or OT3 fanvid than the actual movie does.

I love those kinds of source texts. It's like the Picard/Q vid I recced a few posts back. It's all in the show; no manipulation required. LOL

I love those Narnia movies. They are so well cast. I missed the second one, but we took Emma to see Dawntreader two weeks ago and it is ace.

(I finished my column. Sorta. *sigh* There was a dearth of literature to review. I caught everything through Dec on the last review and most of the journals haven't published their winter editions yet. So it was leeeeean. But I was all, look people. This is all I could find. Pay me less if you wanna. They oughta have a bank of copy from me anyways that they can use as filler if necessary.)

The Narnia vids are great. Its such a shame, they cast the 4 kids so well and by nature of the books we lose them one by one. I've found the films to be well done and entertaining, occasionally a bit slow & too tightly bound to the source material, but have loved watching each of the young actors grow into the characters. Susan gets to be beautiful (love her costumes) and kick ass with the bow, and Lucy nicely grows into herself--she was the best part of Dawn Treader. I quite like Edmund, even a bit more than Peter. I missed having the four of them in VofDT, I haven't decided how I feel about Eustace but did realize it had been way too long since i read the books as I had completely forgotten about the dragon thing. If they weren't tied to the books...I would have loved to have seen more of their adventures with the four of them in their years as Kings & Queens of Narnia in the film.

Hmmmm, now I'm going to have to put back up my Susan icons from the first film.

*nods nods*

I feel like the books leave out so much more than they tell. That's why Yuletide is so awesome.

I totally agree that Lucy was the best part of Dawn Treader. I love that actress so much.
