A bulleted list of awesome

1. Tara and Denise! OMG, they are adorbs. I am very happy that the show explicitly makes the connection between this raid and the one the Governor left on the prison (although I think the connection is a spurious one).

2. Loved Carol in this one. She gets the best damn character work of anyone on the show. She's gone through so many evolutions: abused housewife, bereaved mother, stone cold badass, pretend Junior Leaguer, and now something else. I think she hates what she has become. I think she hates the killing. I think wearing a twinset and baking shit started out as a masquerade, but somewhere along the way, I think she started liking being that person more than the person who can kill without compunction. I love that she put a cookie on Sam's grave. I love love love that Tobin called her a mom, said she'd never stopped being one, and said that her strength came from that aspect of her personality. I love that she defended Morgan's right to speak out and his deep desire not to kill. I am deeply afraid, however, that this means she's about to die.

3. When Abraham first started packing, I thought he meant he was leaving the group, not Rosita. I think he's making a mistake to break up with her, but that's a thing people do in the real world. Get together and break up. It broke my heart when he said, "When I met you, I thought you were the last girl in the world." So harsh, but so true. I feel very badly for them both.

4. Thank you, Ninja Jesus, for saving Glenn and Heath.

5. Father Gabriel stepping up and participating without relinquishing his identity as a priest was really interesting and compelling to me.

6. I feel so badly for Morgan. He's under the weight of the secret of what he did with the Wolf, and he deeply wants to hold true to his principle of non-lethality. I don't know what he was building at the end, but either he was torn up about what he was building or he was upset over what he knew the rest of them were doing.

7. Glenn and Heath just about killed me. Glenn is the only one of our core group who had never taken a human life to this point. I hate that he had to lose his innocence, and I love that he tried so hard to protect Heath's.

8. Finally, any comparison to the Governor's raid on the prison is misleading. Neegan's guys are bad guys. They've appeared in a few episodes now, and they are universally portrayed as awful people. The pictures on the wall of the room of the Saviors Glenn killed attest to that. Neegan had already tried to kill some of the core group. He's holding one thriving community hostage. He has to be stopped. I do not think attacking Neegan's group is morally wrong or a slippery slope.
