Thank you all for your profound and provocative questions which I shall tackle under the cut. Further discussion invited in comments.

kore asked: do you like grilled cheese sandwiches? If so is stuff like apple and bacon acceptable? Do you agree with the idea they are "fried" not grilled or is that HERESY?
I love grilled cheese sandwiches. They used to be a staple for me; sadly, after going gluten free, I realized that, rather than the cheese, the key ingredient in a grilled cheese for me is the bread. And gluten free bread is truly only ever acceptable instead of awesome. I have found a couple of brands that are inoffensive and perfectly fine, but nothing is ever going to fry up crispy and hold onto the butter and have that cronch you want in a grilled cheese. GF bread is also invariably really small, too, which kinda defeats the purpose. Also, typically the better varieties are in the freezer and you run into this weird thing where you have to microwave it to even pry the slices apart, and then you have to toast it so it's not all soggy, and then you'd have to fry it. Bah. :(
When I did eat grilled cheese, I never put in add-ons, but I certainly would not have rejected them.
I am not familiar with the fried vs grilled controversy, but now that I am confronted with the question, I think it's pretty clear you're panfrying the sandwich rather than doing any grilling.

gloss suggested I do some fannish meme questions, so here are a couple:
First ship you remember
The first TV shows and movies I was super into were Star Wars and Star Trek. In my opinion, while TOS has some romances of the week with guest stars, the series and movies are largely romance free especially among the main cast and instead focus on friendship and found family. So very young kid me didn't really have a TOS ship because I didn't notice any blatant indications of romance. (As a teen/adult, do I think the only explanation is that Spock and Kirk are in love with each other? Yes, yes I do. LOL) I definitely shipped Han and Leia as a kid.
The first real ship I remember having was for TNG and (besides Wesley Crusher/me) was Troi/Worf. I really do like Troi/Riker, but I liked Troi/Worf hard and was disappointed they didn't go there.
Most shippable character
Always and forever Spike. He's got chemistry with literally everyone. Throw out the most random and unlikely character, and I can think of a reason for Spike to be sleeping with this character; it's often not a good reason given his track record with schemes LOL, but that's part of the fun.

amejisuto asked: I hear they're bringing back and rebooting Bablyon5. Did you like that show?
I never watched B5 because it originally aired on a network we didn't get, and then I never made the time to go back and watch it after. *hangs head* I am a bad sci-fi fan, and my membership card should be revoked.

rahirah said: Ice cream! You can't go wrong posting about ice cream!
When I was growing up, my dad made ice cream all the time in an electric churn. It was thinner than icecream you'd buy at the store, not that creamy consistency, I guess more ice milk than ice cream. It tended to freeze up harder than store bought, but it was so so good. He'd put fresh fruit in it, sometimes from our fruit. I can't remember if we had peach trees at that time, or if they're a newer edition, but I remember the peach ice cream being so so good. I remember I'd walk by the churn chugging in the sink and surreptiously swipe a finger in the salt packed around the outside of it; I think in another life I was a deer who met her demise at a salt lick.

archersangel asked: is there a movie, or book, that everyone thinks is a classic or a must see/read, but you can't understand why they think that?
I do not care for Faulkner. I find reading him an utter slog, but even there I do enjoy The Sound and the Fury, A Light in August, and "A Rose for Emily." I think Eudora Welty is highly overrated, but I am basing that opinion on disliking a short story or two I was made to read as a teen and never reading anything else. I am also possibly biased by the time she almost ran over my teenaged husband. LOL As I work with one of the premier Welty scholars, I have been meaning to rectify that situation and read a novel to see if I still dislike her writing. I suspect my opinon will have changed.
I do not like the Modernists! T. S. Eliot aggravates me. I like isolated lines of his poetry, but on the whole, I do not like his poems.
Or the Beat poets! Any of the Beats really. I have zero patience for that bullshit.
Or Robert Lowell! OMG do I not like Robert Lowell. And I still have another volume of Robert Lowell to read and discard on my shelf in my rereading project. *cries*
