Mishmash--requests, meta and some squee

1. I'm writing badfic for that ficathon I'm hosting. Cracktastic, eyeballbleeding, tentatively titled "Dr. Badass Gets Laid" badfic, which is amusing the hell out of me but may not tickle anyone else's funnybone. Anyhoooo, I need help thinking of a song. Specifically, the guitar solo of a classic rock song to which one could compare a Winchester's sexed up wail of shuddering need.
2. Somebody please make a Death-Eater HP vid to "Back in Black." I giggle to think of it.
3. I've been getting feedback lately on old stories in Firefly and the Buffyverse and it's making me much less grouchy with the world. :)

executrix made an excellent post HERE about incest and one of the fascinating things she says is: And there was another great thread about families of choice--which, as many posters noted, is A if not THE theme within the Jossverse. Which could be why there was never any canon Buffy/Xander or Buffy/Willow, and why Oz, Tara, and Anya had to be brought in--so there could be Scooby Exogamy to combat the threat of Scoobycest. I always kind of liked the idea of post-series Giles/Willow (although it would probably take him a long time to stop being pissed off after "Grave") but in a sense, that would be a crossgen 'cest pairing. Talk amongst yourselves.

Date: 2007-02-28 07:26 pm (UTC)I'm sorry to heard you've been feeling grouchy with the world. I've been feeling similarly, and watching high-quality tv and reading high-quality fic has definitely been improving my mood.

Date: 2007-02-28 09:03 pm (UTC)Yay for fb to old fic! That's always so cheering.
I've read quite a bit of meta about incest in fic but I suspect the truth is that if it squicks you, it just does, logical or not. I don't object on religious, moral or ethical grounds and have absolutely no problem with its existence or anyone who writes it, but I choose not to read it. I know it doesn't make sense, but when there are other fandoms I prefer and other pairings I love to read, why put myself through something that makes me inherently uncomfortable?
Some people dislike slash of all kinds, after all, and that is their right.

Date: 2007-03-01 05:46 pm (UTC)And I am also of the mind that there's so much out there in fandom to enjoy, no point in reading something you don't care for. :)

Date: 2007-03-01 06:22 pm (UTC)2. OMG YES! That would be absolutely brilliant!
3. Always rocks ::grin::
4. See, this is why Willow/Xander doesn't work for me. Maybe when I'd only watched the first or second season it would have but it doesn't work for me now. The fluke thing, though it was sweet, was odd for me because they're too much like siblings. ::shrug:: It's all relative I guess. I have friends I'm that close to and I can't think of them as anything different than that so that might be why.

*nods*
I'd never thought about it before Exec's post, but that makes a lot of sense for why they'd bring in what were essentially outside characters (tara, oz, anya, riley) for the core group to romance.
