It Doesn't Mean You Can Explain the Ocean by [livejournal.com profile] rageprufrock This is a gorgeous, gorgeous fic. It's long and dense; reading it is very much like unwrapping layer after layer of delicate tissue paper. It's a read of discovery. You must read carefully, because what the author means to say here is very subtly rendered; you will not be hit over the head with anything in this fic. Instead you must read for nuance; I don't think you'll be disappointed. [livejournal.com profile] astolat has written a sequel, Unasked (Sam/Dean, Adult) which is every bit as lovely as the first. The style is, of course, different. Unasked is more direct, but the two styles complement each other very nicely I think.

Tactile Kinesthetic" by [livejournal.com profile] moveablehistory Sam/Dean Adult This is Wincest through the lens of Fight Club; it is raw and visceral and hot as holy hell.

Don’t They Know? (It’s the End of the World) by [livejournal.com profile] 1ightning Sam/Dean Adult This fic is a riff on "Groundhog Day," with Dean living out the same day over and over again. I am a huge fan of this writer; I've yet to read any of hir work that I didn't find entertaining. Usually, I'm struck by her gift for the funny, but this. Oh, it hit me in my gut, and it hurt. This is good, y'all, real good.

For My Next Trick by [livejournal.com profile] nutkin Sam/Dean Adult This author has a real gift for writing teenaged Winchesters; the story is set in Sam's eighteenth year, when everything is about to change and [livejournal.com profile] nutkin really captures the emotional turmoil of that time. Fits wonderfully into canon.
