I have slowly been entering the 21st century: as of August, we have cell phones and debit cards and our paychecks are direct deposited. *gasp*
So, I just realized that you can make playlists on Youtube which ROCKS LIKE A ROCKING THING when you're in your office grading eleventy million papers in a row and the only thing keeping you alive is the music.
Here's my playlists: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=lunabee34&search_type=search_playlists&aq=-1&oq=
And here's what you guys can do to help: "Chicks Rock Out" and "Covers" are pretty thin. What would you suggest I add? (In a bit of weirdness, on this page, "this is highschool" appears to have only 5 videos, when there are really 15 in the set. Huh.) Based on what you see in these playlists, what other songs do you think I would like? (Just song title and artist; you don't have to actually hunt down the video on Youtube, although if you want to, rock on.)
:)

Date: 2008-11-22 03:51 am (UTC)I cannot recommend music because it looks like our musical tastes are completely different.
I mean, i'll give you some names, but....
Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer, anything from 'Tanglewood Tree' is excellent. The Brandos, and front man David Kincaid's Civil War songs. Alice Cooper. Ronnie James Dio. Deep Purple, Rush, Styx, The Cars. Cocteau Twins, Cyndie Lauper, Four Non Blondes, Suzanne Vega, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Scruffy the Cat, .45 Grave.
Just...random sampling. :)

I love Alice Cooper and Deep Purple and The Cars and Cyndie Lauper! And "Holy Diver!" I need to add them to my classic rock playlist.
I had forgotten all about "What's Up." That song is all over high school for me. *loves*
And I youtubed all the other artists you suggested. I really, really liked Tracy Grammer and Dave Carter. Beautiful. The Brandos and the Cocteau Twins I was fairly ambivalent about. I didn't dislike them, but they didn't really grab me. And .45 Grave will not be for me. :)
But still. Lots of good stuff.
Thanks, sweetie.

Date: 2008-11-22 05:02 am (UTC)I'm glad i could offer some suggestions. Brandos is hit or miss with me, too, but there are some good things. I adore the Civil War songs Mr. Kincaid did on his own. 'Haunted Field Music' is the website if you want to sample a few of them.
Holy Diver rocks.
:)
*yawn*
*spins you*

Date: 2008-11-23 12:31 am (UTC)Also: Pink. I really like "U + Ur Hand" and "Most Girls."
I only skimmed your playlists a bit, but yay for Everclear! Though my favorite album of theirs is So Much for the Afterglow not Sparkle and Fade. And eve 6's "Inside Out"! And Marcy Playground's "Sex and Candy"! Oh, the 90s. No matchbox 20?

Date: 2008-11-23 03:19 am (UTC)You are so right that I need some Matchbox 20. "Push" was like the anthem of 11th grade. LOL
Thanks for the suggestions!
