Oh, I missed you guys! *clings*
Dec. 30th, 2006 08:01 pmThings I enjoyed over the holidays:
1. Reconnecting with my brother and finally getting to spend some quality time with his fiancée. He’s dated this girl for two years; it’s about time I spent more than five minutes with her. I showed them our Firefly movie to great acclaim.
2. Getting all the holiday cards and packages (*waves at Exec*) from you guys. It really made my season hearing how nifty and special you guys think I am. Believe me, I need all of that you can stand to dish out right now.
3. Watching Emma open her presents and ooh and ahh over everything, even clothes. She was so precious. Just precious. We spent all day today playing dressup with some of the things she got for Christmas.
4. Opening my inbox on arrival to find I had 69 unread messages. Heh.
5. Getting a whole new wardrobe in my slimmer size. Yay!
Things I enjoyed less over the holidays:
1. The racist comments from the extended family.
2. The lecture on how Messianic Jews have it all wrong from my dad.
3. Losing my wedding ring (Emma later found it on the floor, bless her angelic heart, but that whole day was ruined)
4. Eating at Cracker Barrel. WTF, brother! That’s your idea of fine dining? *snorfle*
5. My userpics expiring. *sniff sniff*
6. Playing dominoes. Dear Gods that game has too much math in it. It took me forever just to realize which tiles you actually added. *shudder* Life before Scrabble obviously sucked.
And one blessing in disguise: My MeeMaw’s house was broken into while she was at my mom and dad’s for the holidays. Whoever broke in didn’t take very much and took nothing of any real value; the only thing that was apparently stolen that was of sentimental value was a gun that had belonged to my grandfather. But when MeeMaw got down there and saw it all, she called my mom and mom told her to call the police and MeeMaw didn’t know how. *sigh* So now she’s living fulltime with my mom and dad, which is a move that should have been made long ago, truthfully. I hate that her home was robbed, but they all needed something to make that move more pressing.
