8 Minutes of Happiness

trobadora tagged me for the 8 Days of Happiness Meme, but I don't think I can commit to that much happiness, so y'all will have to settle for 8 minutes. Also, this list is a bit ambivalent at times in terms of happiness.
1. I have set a date for my Comps. It is in July. July is very soon. I just threw up a little bit in my mouth. I thought I was never going to finish my Ph.D. I had given up on that dream and reworked my sense of identity and Moved On. And then I got this job, this wonderful amazing tenure track position that I got WITHOUT EVEN BEING ABD!!!!!!!! and it became very clear to me that I needed to finish my degree. So I re-enrolled in January and things are moving along. I am exhilarated and proud and SCARED TO DEATH. This means that until July, I will probably be pretty scarce online. Will I give you guys up completely? No. Never. But I have a lot of work to do and so very little time to accomplish it.
2. I just had my yearly evaluation from the chair of my division and I rocked! I had a conference presentation and five publications and some hefty committee work, among other Wonderfulnesses of Me, to add to the vita. I have been so hellbent on proving that they didn't make a mistake in hiring me without a Ph.D. that I have perhaps gone overboard, but I made a stellar showing, y'all. Job is safe for another year.
3. Emma has asthma. We thought all these years that she had allergies, but it turns out she has mild asthma. This doesn't sound happy except that now that we know what's wrong, we can treat her symptoms much more effectively.
4. I LOVE SAM AND DEAN.
