When this started a month ago, I saw the doctor a week and a half into it and she told me it was a virus and to basically suck it up. I called her three weeks into it and the same. Suck it up.
So, *shrugs* IDK?
I haven't had a fever at all. I literally have no other symptoms. But the coughing is sometimes so bad that I have to use the inhaler that she prescribed me. Josh has pretty much said that I'm making another appt on Monday and I will.
Wow, that's lame. If it's lingering that long, you do something more proactive than 'suck it up'. Gods. Sometimes doctor's suck so hard. *pet pet pet pet pet pet pet pet*
Eeep. I'd be going to the doc and getting antibiotics. If it hasn't cleared up on its own after all this time, it's unlikely to (as I discovered the hard way, when I got bronchitis in the middle of summer)
Ack! Go to the doctor. Right the hell now. While it could be that six-week cold that's been going around (and boy, did I hate that fucker), it could also be a respiratory infection, and you need to get on those before they deepen into true pneumonia.
Yeah. Josh is all tearing his hair out LOL and he's made me promise to make another appt. I think I'll give this doc one more chance, see what she says and then like you suggest, look for another if I'm not impressed.
In my case, it's allergies. In your case? I'd go see the doctor to rule out walking pneumonia or some such. The Spouse once had pleurisy and his only symptom was a painful cough.
Don't mess with your lungs, girl! They don't issue new ones if you mess up the ones you have...

Date: 2009-04-20 02:30 am (UTC)The doctor has pretty definitively diagnosed Emma's asthma, but now I'm starting to have visions of mold or some shit. *sigh*
