1. Absolute first? Mal
2. Badger. He's such a lovely character with his accent and his apple peeling machine and I've seen people in fandom use him to such great effect
3. For this fandom there is nothing but love. Not a single character that I don't adore
4. Those hands of blue dudes. So creepy. Wish we'd had some onscreen resolution there
5. Mal/Jayne
6. River/Mal--I have issues with the Captain Daddy. I can't help it.
7. Browncoats, caper fic, all the squee leading up to the BDM, ADAM BALDWIN OMG, the humor
8. all the River/grown up person that isn't Simon or Kaylee fic (I know this is really hypocritical that I'm all "the incest fic is awesome but I hate teenage!River/Jayne; so call me Walt and be done with it); decline in squee since the BDM; closed canonyness; teeny tiny canonyness; too little apocafic (we always need more so you should get right on that); the unresolved issues with Blue Sun
9. Jayne, Wash, Zoe
10. I love them all but least would probably be Mr. Universe, Shepherd Book, Atherton Wing (and I love all these characters!)
11. Mal/Jayne, Mal/Simon, Mal/Inara (there do seem to be a trend here)
12. River/Jayne, River/Mal, Kaylee/Mal
13. Probably Simon--all introspective and fish out of water and constantly thrusting his foot down his esophagus. That's me.
14. I only wrote two pieces in this fandom which is sad and pitiful but I never felt like I could get a handle on the voices and I wonder sometimes if I had found the fandom now, when I'm not such a newbie, if I'd be better able to write in it.

I also can't stand Jayne/River (and not just because I refuse to believe that Jayne would let River anywhere near his 'man parts', on account of the crazy).

nd I wonder sometimes if I had found the fandom now, when I'm not such a newbie, if I'd be better able to write in it.

...maybe it's time for a series re-watch?

I think it's executrix's fault. She's written more than one story with Badger as a character and I really like the way she writes him.

I think it is. I really think I have more to say in this fandom, I just could never wrap my brain around what that is. But yes. Rewatch.

01. The first character I fell in love with: Elizabeth Weir
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Brendan Gaul; one of my favorite things to do as a fanfic writer is to use the POV of the peripheral characters and in the course of writing about them, I come to care about them a great deal
03. The character everyone else loves that I don’t: I like everybody on this show; I truly do--except Lucius, who I love to hate, but I think everyone agrees
04. The character I love that everyone else hates: Keller
05. A pairing that I love: Ronon/Rodney
06. A pairing that I despise: gosh, I don't despise any pairings here; I really like even the implausible ones like Caldwell/Rodney or Keller/Jeannie :) A good writer can make me believe in just about any pairing (except apparently River/Mal or River/Jayne), or at least be intrigued by the possibility
07. 5 things I enjoy about the fandom: the quality of writing, the gorgeous icons, the thoughtful meta, episode tags, alternate timeline and mirror!verse possibilities
08. And 5 that suck: McShep fatigue, closed canon, fannish disgust with the source material, female love interest character bashing, not having enough time to write as I'd like

10. My 3 least favorite characters. Again, for odd values of least: Ellis, Jinto, Steve the Wraith

Sheppard/Weir, Sheppard/Teyla that's not OT4, Sheppard/Carter (I just don't see the guy with women; I know it's tinhatty because he canonically has sex with women and was married to one, but Sheppard seems so repressed and awkward with women; I can make an exception for Larrin; they had a lot of chemistry)
13. Which character I'm most like. Maybe Cadman. I get the sense that she has a lot of fun, but she's good at her job and capable.
14. My deep, dark fandom secret. I wish that McShep could take a backseat sometimes. I know that I perpetuate this problem by writing the pairing myself, but I just wish some of the more rare pairings could get some attention sometimes.

I think I agree on most points with you too except the fave characters oddly enough, I love Spike, Xander and Giles with Tara as my girly fave. I must admit that Buffy got on my nerves a bit though not as much as Dawn!
