Harry/Draco
Irresistable Poison by Rhysenn Harry/Draco Adult. I still have issues with this pairing but fanfic is doing a lot to bring me around. One of the problems I have with Draco in fic is that he seems to bear very little resemblance to the Draco I remember reading in the books. The Draco in this fic is definitely Draco: his dialogue is very well done and the way his character changes as he suffers under the effects of a love spell is plausible. There’s not any actual sex between the two (although there is at least one racy dream), but this fic is really, really sexy. The prose is a bit purple at times, but overall a good read. Oh, and there’s a dueling scene at the end that I think is just brilliant.
Surfacing by Dee Harry/Draco Adult. This story is short and features an incredibly damaged Draco who is trying to manipulate Harry. Both of them behave fairly horribly in this fic, but I think I feel most for Draco. It’s a very brutal read.

zionsstarfish Harry/Draco This is a Christmas fic and it’s about a post-War Draco that’s tired and sick and broke and really really lonely. The detail about the hostess gift really gets me in the gut. But it’s ultimately a happy piece and a hopeful one.
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by November Snowflake Harry/Draco Adult. During the war, Draco loses his memory and ends up a prisoner in St. Mungo’s. What’s he been doing all this time? Has he been Voldemort’s champion or victim? This story is pretty bleak and full of war time despair, but there’s still hope as long as there’s tomorrow.
Drawing Down the Moon byscoradh Draco/Blaise, Draco/Harry Adult Oh, this is a jolly read. It’s a frame story in which Gramma Hermione and Grampa Ron tell the youngins the story of how Uncle Draco and Uncle Harry got together way back when. It’s very, very funny
Ron/Draco
Untitled byhelenish Ron/Draco This is an almost story about how Draco and Ron might get together, which is also incredibly hilarious. The IM convo spliced into the middle of the fic is particularly funny
Sirius/Remus
All Through the Night bycasira Sirius/Remus PG This fic beautifully showcases the friendship between James, Peter, Sirius and Remus in their school days. It’s a Christmas fic and its use of Christmas carols is very innovative and evocative. This fic is haunting and atmospheric—it feels very interior, very much about the inner landscapes of Sirius and Remus. This is a fic about the discovery of love, but it doesn’t do any of the conventional, cliché things I’ve come to expect from those fics. The pairing’s emotions feel like both a surprise and an utter inevitability. The final scene is so arresting, you’ll remember it for a long time.
How Bitter a Thing bymusesfool Sirius/Remus Adult This is Sirius and Remus at 12 Grimmauld Place and it is about comfort and about the past and also very much about coping with the present.
Mapmakers bycasira Sirius/Remus This is a remix and the original fic is linked on this page. This fic is told from Fred’s POV and centers around the map that he and George filched so long ago. With Sirius gone, Fred feels a real need to understand Sirius and Remus’s relationship and he trusts the map to tell him. This will make you sob like nobody’s business.

Replacement by the Pearl Harry/Hermione/Ron and then…so achingly, not. Very short vignette that hurt my heart
Get There Faster by Jintian Harry/Ron Adult This fic is disturbing, a really frightening look at what Harry must do, what he must become if he is to defeat Voldemort, if he is to be the kind of person who says Avada Kedavra and means it.
Five Things That Never Happened to Ronald Bilius Weasley by Kel Includes Ron/Viktor and Ron/Harry I like all the vignettes, but the second and fifth in particular, both of which involve character death, are really good reads
Trick of Love byredblaze Adult. Harry/Ron, Harry/Ron/Hermione When Hermione realizes that her two best friends have a component to their relationship that she doesn’t share, she becomes hurt and jealous. There’s also a lust potion.
Seamus/Ron
Easily by Bec Seamus/Ron Oh this is quite lovely! Ron’s jonesing after Harry and Seamus is just around, you know. Very fun. And also sweet.
Harry/Snape
Beech Hall by Aucta sinistra Harry/Snape After graduation, Harry’s bought a house and the house is giving him fits. Snape comes to stay for awhile. What I like most about this fic is that the Snape voice is particularly wonderful—biting and scathing and wryly funny. I think the dialogue is stellar.

Forgiveness, or Seven Things Harry Potter Will Never Do For Petunia Dursley bythelastgoodname G This fic is based on the seven corporeal works of mercy required of the medieval religious. It’s also very tender. I’ve thought for a long time that Petunia must have some particular reason for being as awful as she is, and while this story doesn’t reveal that reason, it does showcase a Harry who is sensitive to the fact that his aunt must have layers.
Five Things That Never Happened to Petunia Dursley by November Snowflake This is very short and the final vignette packs an emotional whallop.
Visitors bylyras Alice Longbottom genfic. Neville’s grandmother comes to give Alice some devastating news about her son, and Alice cannot understand what her visitor means.
The Reader by Aja Draco genfic. During the War, the bloody apocalyptic war in which it seems everyone the students at Hogwarts love is dying, Draco Malfoy finds a way to bring solidarity and a kind of peace to his fellow students. This is really lovely because it’s ultimately about the power of words and why they are important.
A Small Truce by Marina Fants Snape and Sirius genfic I love this piece. It’s short, but I think it’s very true to both characters and really explores their reactions to each other—Snape in particular.
Trinity by MiraBella This genfic is a really interesting version of the friendship between Hermione and Ron. What if their arguing really isn’t an act? This is a bitter and caustic and almost defeated Hermione that intrigues me.
Sixteen ways to Tell the Weasley Twins Apart bykaydeefalls This is funny and OMG hurty and very, very right.
