Anonymous comments

I noticed recently that anonymous comments to my journal show up in the comment list as "anonymous" but with no comment attached. It's apparent that someone anonymously commented to my journal but the comment is no longer there. I don't know if this is just some anon comments or all of them. Here's an example:

Anybody have any idea what could be causing this? I have my account sent to receive comments from everybody. Is there some other ticky box somewhere I don't know about?

So clearly people *can* comment anon to my posts. What's going on then with anon comments like above? That's not the only comment to an old post of mine that's like that? Anon comments don't disappear after awhile, do they? That would be stupid.

Maybe it has something to do with the new spamming comment things LJ started up? I know that everybody's journal's automatically defaulted to making any comments with links outside of LJ in them as "spam". And I think someone said that you could only see them if you click on a link that shows up only when you have spam comments in your post? But I have not seen it. So I don't know much about it. Sorry!

I found the setting for the new spam thing. If you go to your privacy settings there is a box there that is checked that says to spam all comments that have links to sites not white listed. Though apparently there is no published list of what those sites are, so I don't know.
