Y'all, I am calmer about recent health developments now. Thanks to Executrix for reminding me that gluten free food is indeed to be found even on vacation, and thanks to Kaleecat for the silly card that lifted me out of the doldrums.
I have handled my deteriorating health with such ill grace that it embarrasses me and makes me feel terribly sorry for my family who is bearing the brunt of my frustration and depression.
However, I am working hard to reframe my perspective about my health. I mean, I don't even know definitively if I have celiac yet. My initial consult is set for April 6th. After that consult, I'll undergo additional screening. It will probably start with more blood tests and possibly progress to an endoscopy; as we all know about doc visits and surgical procedures, completing those could take some time. I might not have an official diagnosis until June.
So, until then, I am looking forward to going to this wedding. I have a fabulous dress, fabulous shoes, and a chunky chain bracelet and earrings (think total 80s luxe). I am going to look great and have fun. I might even wear red lipstick OMG!
I'm also looking forward to going to New York in late May for a week where I will be able to hang out with Executrix and have all manner of fun. Depending on where I am in the screening process, I may even be able to eat indiscriminately. :)
Thanks to all of you for being such good friends and so supportive of me during this time. I know many of you are dealing with disabilities and health issues yourself, and I appreciate you sharing your strength with me. *hugs*

Ooooohh, chesnut. I used to love that color lipstick. I ended up going with nude because I had so much mascara on LOL.

Date: 2016-03-17 11:30 am (UTC)Also, yes, I wanted to comment to your other post, but you'd disabled comments, to tell you that you can still eat out! You won't be able to have the bread they put on the table, but a lot of other things are still available to you. Not that it won't be a pain in the ass to figure it all out, but you did get a good jump on it when your mom was diagnosed, so you have that going for you, as well.
Have a fun time at the wedding, and visiting Executrix! (What part of NY will you be in?)
*hugs*
