Byatts plus X-Men Apocalypse

Here are the results of my requests for Byatt (50 word stories) prompts:
White Collar (which I have never seen and know nothing about LOL)
“Are you stealing from our client?” Neal says as Elizabeth stuffs the most beautiful white, leather collar she’s ever seen into her purse.
“Relax. It’s not like Kelly Kapowski could rock this beauty.” Neal looks close to having an aneurysm. “We’re thieves, right? Or maybe lawyers. Interior decorators? I forget.”
Penny Dreadful
Vanessa Ives is wearing faceted, green glass in her ears, around her throat—or maybe they are emeralds. John Clare does not know. Her clothes are black, as always, and she does not smile. She takes his arm, her grip punishing, and says, “How did you die? I must know.”
Firefly
Simon drank 1ml of bourbon from Earth That Was when Michelle Lin graduated medical school, just enough to coat his mouth. Her grandfather many times over had preserved a handful of bottles of Bulleit, the process similar to the cryo technology on which Simon would one day rely so heavily.
MCU
Darcy doesn’t need a tattoo over her heart or someone’s first words branded into the skin over her collarbone to know who she belongs to. She knows her soulmate the second she sees Jane, and every night when they’re out chasing wormholes, Darcy sees her name written in the stars.
SGA
“They want us to what?” Rodney’s mouth settles into an anxious, crooked line.
“I’m not any happier about this than you are, buddy, but they’re the ones with the ZPM,” John says.
Rodney squares his shoulders, says, “Let’s do this,” and pulls his shirt off. He can survive naked yoga.
So Emma and I saw X-Men Apocalypse and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think all the recent X-Men movies have done a good job with the ensemble cast, this one in particular. We don't get know enough about the girl with the whip or really about Apocalypse himself, but we get to know enough about the other characters and their motivations to make me care about what happens to them. Sansa Stark is phenomenal as Jean Grey. I love Wolverine's cameo and the beginnings of that love triangle. I wish they hadn't given Eric a family just to kill them, but I sympathize with his dilemma. He does the right thing and saves a man's life, and for that, he is targeted and his family killed. The events of Eric's life support his extremely cynical worldview. I don't know how he can trust or believe optimistically after all that has happened to him. I think it's interesting that Peter doesn't tell Eric he's his dad; I have a hard time deciding if that's because he fears being rejected or if he hasn't decided whether he wants to reject Eric. I am surprised at the extent of global destruction achieved by Apocalypse and Eric; overcoming that volume of death and property damage will have lasting consequences. The humor is good in the movie, too; Nightcrawler is pretty much adorbs.
