1. I'm not really sure what to do about LJ. Most people seem to be deleting their journals. That seems probably not necessary to me, but maybe I'm wrong. I have to admit that I would prefer having only one social media platform to check; I also don't have any super attachment to LJ anymore. IDK

If I delete, I lose access to club-joss, and I think I saw someone saying they're going to delete communities with no activity for a certain number of days (Is that right?). I could make a new DW account and import that community, right?

I have a question about how importing works. If I import my LJ to my DW, it will duplicate posts that aren't crossposted, correct? Will it just tack on the LJ comments to the end of the DW comments or intersperse them?

What do y'all think?

2. Walking Dead season finale was awesome.

I am so glad we are done with the trash people. They annoyed me from start to finish, and now we don't have to deal with them at all except in the context of maybe killing them. LOL

What a fantastic send off for Sasha; so glad Abraham got to come back and be part of it. She went out fighting and protecting her friends, and she almost got Neegan. That tiger showing up and munching on everyone was awesome. Loved Carol and Morgan and Maggie saving the day.

I am a bit annoyed that we still have more defeating Neegan to do, but I feel much better about the whole prospect now.

I am very disappointed in Eugene. I really thought he was playing a long game and waiting for his moment to strike from the inside. Now all that can redeem him is a noble death. So irritating.

They really need more people to defeat Neegan. I wonder if the women at the camp will agree to fight with them. And I guess Dwight will lead the workers' revolution. That's really where the numbers will come from, I suspect.

3. Into the Badlands has been good. I just wish it wasn't on so late at night. I have so much trouble staying up that late now. It ruins my sleep; it's like there's a window in which I can fall asleep easily, and if I stay up too much past that, I'm screwed.

4. I'm going to stop taking the Elmiron for my IC. It causes night sweats, and I'm finally getting really fed up with it. I'd gone six months with zero night sweats, and taking this medicine made me start having them again. They've gradually gotten worse the longer I've taken it as well. Last night I changed shirts three times. It's really affecting my sleep. I've got about 3 weeks of the med left before I need a refill, and part of me feels like I should finish it out since I paid for it, but the other part of me despairs at three more weeks of terrible sleep laying on cold wet sheets and getting up to change my clothes every few hours. *sigh*

Importing from LJ does duplicate posts that weren't crossposted, yeah. (I manually crossposted for the first year or so I was on DW, so around then there're tons of duplicated posts on my account.) And I believe when you import comments from crossposted posts, the LJ threads/comments get tacked on below the DW threads/comments. (It's been a while since I did a new comment import; guess I should get on that.) I'd guess that if someone comments on the DW post after that, those comments would go below, but I'm not sure.

It's really affecting my sleep.

That sounds miserable. *hugs* Discontinuing the meds seems like a reasonable choice.

Well, I imported my journal a few years ago and every entry since then has been crossposted, so it sounds like I just need to do a comment import? Is that right? That would avoid the duplicate post problem, yes? Or is it not two different options?

I'm just about to start a new import running, and it's a list of things you can tick off to import. By the Journal Comments option, it says "Imports all comments on your entries. This will automatically import your entries." But unless I'm badly misremembering, it can tell which entries it's already imported or are crossposts and just checks those for previously-unimported comments, rather than duplicating stuff all over the place. Some people run frequent comment backups, I think, and their DWs would be a disaster if it was constantly duplicating things.

To my knowledge, you can import communities, yes.

I was reading about photo privacy on Dreamwidth, and I'd think DW's FAQ pages may have more info on importing, too.

I'm still staying mainly over on LJ, but I'm keeping a weather eye out because the change does worry me.

I don't know what the policy about account inactivity is because it wasn't clear to me.

As for importing: when I did it in the middle of January, all of my public posts with comments in both places were duplicated; I don't know if a post without comments on LJ would be duplicated or not. Because I didn't and don't crosspost, I have no idea how that affects duplication. My policy going forward to do an import every month or less, depending on how much I post.

Also, deleting journals won't do anything for a year: the new User Agreement says that data is kept for that long to comply with Russian law.

You can import a community to DW.

I think your posts duplicated because you weren't crossposting but making them manually to each site; crossposted posts don't duplicate.

If you're the owner of an LJ community, you can import it as an community. I did that with an old rp community a while back.

When I imported my LJ, the only duplicate post I got was one that had different dates on LJ and DW.

I dreamed last night that Josh and I work with the actor who plays Rick and he was telling me all about how fun shooting the finale was, and he kept hugging me and patting me on the back, and I don't know what my brain was up to. There is no part of me that's attracted to Rick Grimes. Like none.
