Happy birthday to
ana_grrl,
nasty_shrew, and
velvet_virago. I hope you have a brilliant time, surrounded by the people and things you love most! You're some of the most creative women in fandom, and I'm pleased to know you. (Haven't seen you around in a long while, Velvet! I miss ya)
emella tagged me for two memes, so here are my answers.
Five Weird things about me:
1. I would rather clean the toilet than vaccuum the floor.
2. I find re-reading the same books very comforting, especially if they're not "high literature." I've read Rosemary Rogers' Sweet, Savage Love upwards of thirty times.
3. I used to dress my little brother up in drag under the pretense that we were playing FBI and he had to go undercover.
4. I have to wear lip balm all the time because I have very dry lips.
5. I'm doublejointed.
My guilts:
1. Culinary: Cheese dipped in soy sauce or Dale's or some other condiment not intended for cheese
2. Literary: See Sweet, Savage Love entry above LOL
3. Audiovisual: Dawson's Creek! Much much much Pacey love
4. Musical: Ricky Martin in Espanol
5. Celebrity: We subscribe to Star. It's like crack. And my husband always reads it before me. LOL

Some Kinda Hot Cheese Thing
Date: 2006-02-09 05:23 pm (UTC)If you can get Maggi Sweet Chili Sauce, or any of the African brands of Banana Hot Sauce I bet they'd be great on cheese. (Banana hot sauce looks and tastes like ketchup, only MUCH BETTER--it doesn't taste like bananas.)
I too, felt the Pacey Love. And I saw Jack/Deputy Doug coming three seasons ahead, although I expected Jack to make a move on Dawson in the interim. Man, Kevin Williamson and the shark can't have been the same person on that show, because the minute he left....pffft!

Date: 2006-02-10 01:48 am (UTC)Banana hot sauce sounds great. I'll check out for it next time I go to teh grocery.
I must confess, I did not see the Jack/Doug thing coming. But I love how when Jack's all afraid to be with him, the old woman on the beach doesn't bat an eye that he's gay. She's all, "That's nice, dear."

Date: 2006-02-10 10:41 am (UTC)I am so with you there. I've read and re-read Isaac Asimov and Georgette Heyer so many times, it's ridiculous. I could very nearly quote Heyer.
Reading one of her books is like stepping into a warm bubble-bath. I know it'll be witty, beautifully researched and have a happy ending. My idea of heaven.

Date: 2006-02-10 04:32 pm (UTC)I'd start with something like 'These Old Shades' and its sequel, 'Devil's Cub'. A personal favourite is 'Venetia' and 'Arabella' is great fun.
She wrote her first book, 'The Black Moth' to entertain her sick brother, from memory, and proceeded to make a very good living from her writing thereafter. This link might provide an interesting overview: http://www.georgette-heyer.com/general.html
Enjoy!

Eww.
3. I used to dress my little brother up in drag under the pretense that we were playing FBI and he had to go undercover.
OMG! So cute! Hee!
5. I'm doublejointed.
Where?
1. Culinary: Cheese dipped in soy sauce or Dale's or some other condiment not intended for cheese.
Freaky.
3. Audiovisual: Dawson's Creek! Much much much Pacey love.
Coolness, I can get that, Pacey is probably the best character on that show. :)
5. Celebrity: We subscribe to Star. It's like crack. And my husband always reads it before me. LOL
Lol! You shameful shameful woman.
:P
